Life Goals
Today during my run I decided that it would be a good idea to write down some of my long term goals on this blog. Eventhough the goals have been formally established in my mind, this will be the first time they have been written down.
My goals are a little embarrassing because they are lofty. I know goals of this nature are usually connected to middle school or high school students that have yet to become jaded with the harsh realities of the real world.
#1 - Established in 1997: Work as hard as I can until I earn $200mm dollars in inflation adjusted 1997 dollars. Then continue to work with a focus personal enrichment or bettering the world.
#2 - Established in 1998: Give away $200mm dollars.
#3 - Don’t remember when established: Win a World Series of Poker bracelet.
#4 - Established in 2006: Qualify and run in the Boston Marathon.
#5 - Established today: Create or establish or movement that will rally one million people towards bettering the world in some way.
#6 - Established sometime in high school: Get a six pack (defined abdomen muscles). This has been a very elusive goal for me, but over the last 3 years I have shed aclose to 50 pounds of fat so I guess I am that much closer to this goal.
#7 - Established around 2004: Have a photography spread that I shot published in a national fashion publication. Either advertising or editorial is acceptable.
#8 - Established in 2007: Produce and or direct a full length movie/documentary that achieves what would be equivalent to a wide release.
The attainment of these goals does not define the meaning or purpose of my life and I will not feel unworthy or unfulfilled if I do not reach some or all of them. They are simply goals to strive towards. They reflect where my priorities are today. Reading them over they appear somewhat superficial. I guess that may be an accurate representation of my character in 2007; at 28 years old I definitely have some room to grow in maturity and wisdom.
